Misinterpreted workout

Did 20 starts, then 10 x 2′ with 2′ rest, which turned out to be a bunch of 1:30s with 2-3 minute rests due to wakes and winds.

Was supposed to do 10′ of stationary drills followed by 10 starts with 10 strokes after the starts and 2 minutes of paddling.

Oh well…

15k on the water

Working on timing…many interruptions as coach insisted that I "bounce the back off the trampoline on the recovery," then count to four on the slide up. Astoundingly effective at 19-20 spm. I am no dancer: I keep dipping my chin. I keep dropping my right hand.

Last night III-II-I pyramid pieces…5′, 3′ then 1′, with 4′ rest in between, and doing it three times.

Yow.

The good news: I still had lots of gas left in the tank after the I.

I raced at Royal Canadian Henley on August 2, 2009. I'll be spending the month of August and most of September training for head races. I haven't entered any of my training into this log in almost 60 days, because as a single sculler, I note that there are only a couple of other scullers who use this site, so there is zero feedback. I will continue to train daily according to a regimen designed by an experienced trainer. This blog will help me keep track of my efforts as I strive to become competitive in both 1,000 meter and 5,000 meter events. My other favorite activities include: Squash. On May 31, 2008, I crashed my bike and sustained a Type III shoulder separation. After 6 weeks off, I went back on the water for 3 weeks, hoping to enter Canadian Henley. It became obvious that I needed to rest it more. This year has been better, but I am still only at 4:30 for a sprint.
